Primary school teachers knowledge and experiences of teaching P.E. A dance context.
This research project looks at gaining and applying insights from teachers of 5-7-year-old children to shape intervention studies on yoga and dance in primary schools. This study will be completed by December 2022.

You have been invited to participate in this study due to your primary school teaching experience.  In this study, you will be asked questions about your experiences as a teacher of 5–7-year-olds (corresponding to Key Stage 1 in England or Elementary in USA). The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete.

This study is important because previous research has shown that the P.E. provision for younger pupils in school can be a challenge for teaching staff who are not always confident in their ability to deliver it themselves and it can be tricky to find the time within a busy timetable to provide something meaningful to pupils.  This study seeks to understand some of the barriers around this with the aim of improving training for teachers.  The results of this project will be summarised in a student dissertation and possibly other academic work.

No information which would allow a participant to be identified will be collected as part of this project.

This study is led by a research team in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London, London, UK. Ethical approval for the study has been obtained from the college.
