NNMS Equity Challenge Day 5 {14 mins}
Writing down our thoughts and journaling about the selected media pieces is an important part of the process. Written reflections will be useful to have when we get together at the end of the challenge so a pdf of your response will be sent to you.

Color Blind or Color Brave?
The subject of race can be very touchy. As finance executive Mellody Hobson says, it's a "conversational third rail." But, she says, that's exactly why we need to start talking about it. In this engaging, persuasive talk, Hobson makes the case that speaking openly about race — and particularly about diversity in hiring — makes for better businesses and a better society.
Give yourself time to reflect on your reactions, thoughts, and feelings to the piece individually and collectively.  Pay special attention to difficult emotions such as shame, anger, and discomfort as these feelings often lead to deeper self-awareness about how power and privilege impact you and the people around you. *
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
