SELF Design Studio Maker in Residence - Fall 2023
Thank you for your interest in the Fall 2023 Maker in Residence program.  Our Makers in Residence are an important part of our space here at the SELF Design Studio.

Our Makers in Residence learn and volunteer in the studio 2 hours a week, training on tools, and assisting students with projects.   If selected for the MiR program, you will also have access to up to $100 in creative funds to learn and practice a new skills.  Using this new skill, we ask that you lead a workshop for the UNCG community this semester.

As a Maker in Residence you will:

Learn about making technologies and create personal and curriculum-based projects.
Collaborate with fellow MiRs on projects
Participate and lead classes and workshops for UNCG students and K-5 students
Participate in an end-of-the-year Maker Faire at the Forge in downtown Greensboro.

The program begins mid-January and concludes at the end of the semester.  Upon completion of the semester projects, you will receive a certificate in Creative Exploration from the SELF Design Studio

Your team leader / faculty member may offer professional development credit for participating in this program.  Please check with them before starting to make sure it will count towards that goal.
