This year was crazy. Together, we're wondering: what should we be looking out for in 2022?
You might not feel like you've got over 2021 yet but 2022 is fast upon us. And the burning question for anyone thinking about the future of the internet is: will the next 12 months be as crazy as the last 12?

Five independent newsletters writing about the internet in a variety of forms have come together to answer that question — and we'd love your help!

We want folks to share the people, ideas, issues or events that will be a driving force next year, partly as a way to capture the current mood and partly as a way to prepare ourselves for the chaos that we may face down the track.

We're boiling it down to one question: what should we look out for in 2022?

Our hope is that the responses — which will be published across the newsletters and on social media — will inspire a broader conversation about what may, and perhaps should, be our collective focus over next year.

Read on for more and thanks in advance for taking part,

Your team,

What is your name? *
What email address would you like us to contact you on about this project?
Let's get to it then. What one idea, issue, person or event should people look out for in 2022? (100 words) *
We'd love to hear about your field of expertise but feel free to broaden out into other areas related to technology and society too. There's no wrong answer!
What is your Twitter username?
We'll use this to create quote cards with snappy soundbites for use on social media. Leave it blank if you'd rather that not happen
What is your Instagram username?
Same as above. No pressure though.
Our plan is to share the predictions initially in the five newsletters mentioned above before making all responses available in a public document (via Creative Commons licensing). Your email will not be shared onwards. Is that ok with you? *
It's important for us that you know where your ideas will end up. If you hit no, we'll follow up with an email to explain more about the project and the five newsletters taking part.
Can we contact you about future initiatives organised by the five newsletters mentioned above?
We don't know what this would look like but we know that there's lots of scope for collaborating on events and other series - stay tuned!
