SUBJECT: January 2024 Kitsap Project Connect
Planning for the 2024 Kitsap Project Connect is well under way. It will take the efforts of all our local non-profit and governmental service providers, plus many compassionate community volunteers, to create positive experiences for those who seek assistance.
The events will be as follows:
North Kitsap -- Tuesday, January 23 -- Gateway Fellowship Church, 18901 8th Avenue NE, Poulsbo 98370
Bremerton/Central Kitsap -- Wednesday, January 24 -- The Salvation Army, 832 6th Street, Bremerton 98337
South Kitsap -- Thursday, January 25 -- Port Orchard United Methodist Church, 725 Kitsap Street, Port Orchard 98366
Set up will begin at 7:30 a.m. and guests will be invited to come in for assistance and information between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The 2023 event will focus on the needs of homeless individuals, families and youth as well as those at risk of losing their housing. Homeless Count Survey will occur as participants enter the building. Service providers will be organized in the facility, by category, in order to make it easier for participants to locate the types of services they are most interested in. Service categories may include:
Housing and Shelter, Children and Youth, Specialized Support (counseling, veteran services, legal, immigration assistance, substance abuse, etc.)
Health and Wellness (dental hygienists, medical care, health district services, vision screening, etc.)
Basic Needs, Quality of Life (hairdressers, outdoor gear, hygiene items, coats, hats, mittens, basic veterinary care, pet food, etc.)
A free hot meal for all guests will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Vendors are encouraged to eat lunch with the participants.
We are requesting that all agencies that plan to participate in Kitsap Project Connect complete the following registration form and return it to Terry Schroeder via email at kitsapprojectconnect2000@gmail.com no later than December 15, 2023. The 13th annual Kitsap Project Connect event will provide a welcoming
one-stop location for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at
risk of losing housing to access a variety of housing, shelter, employment and
training, basic needs, quality of life services and a free hot meal.
