Parents Participation Levy

The Parent Participation Levy was created as a means of building parent involvement in their children's school. Parent participation in a variety of roles affirms the important role of parents throughout the school and with the broader community in supporting the learning and development of their children.

Parents are encouraged to:

work in conjunction with staff and other community members to support and promote the school's educational programs
support the school through involvement in the School Advisory Council and the Parents and Friends Social Group and associated committees
help to maintain the school’s aesthetic appearance
support the school in areas of fundraising and maintenance

At the beginning of the school year a Levy is added to your school fees of $200. By volunteering throughout the year and recording the hours you volunteered for, you are then able to work off this $200 levy. 8 hours of volunteering is needed to fully work off your points and can be completed by family members eg, Grandparents.

Below is a list of fundraising events and tasks that can be completed throughout the year. Please tick all tasks you would be interested in. Once that task comes around you may be contacted to see if you are availble to help out. *

Shrove Tuesday (Tuesday 21st Feb during school hours, cooking pancakes for the children)

Mother's Day stall (during school hours)

Cutting/stapling raffle tickets (different events throughout the year)

Bunnings BBQ (weekend BBQ, no children allowed)

Carols by the Merri Cake stall (during the day cutting slices or Friday night while children perform carols)

Dennington Dash Committee (helping to source sponsors and Raffle prizes. Organising the event)

Dennington Dash Volunteering (after school Friday March 3rd cutting fruit, BBQ, marshaling, time keeping etc)

Dennington Day Out Committee (meeting monthly to plan our annual event)

Set up of Dennington Day out (November Sunday morning)

Student Disco (supervision of disco on a friday night)

Library Book Covering (different times throughout the year when the library recieves new books)

Wednesday Treats (tuesday or wednesday during school hours term 2 and 3)

Family BBQ (night in december after school hours)

School working bees (weekends throughout the year)

Easter Raffle donation collection/coordinating (can be done in your own time)

Christmas Raffle donation collection/coordinating (can be done in your own time)

Parents & Friends Social Group Committee (meeting monthly to discuss fundraising)

Parent Parent Helper in the classroom (during school hours)
