We are so excited you want to join us at American Rhythm! Please fill out the following form to enroll in Fall 2023 classes. The class schedule will be out in early August.
There are so many more folk dances we can do if we have an equal number of boys and girls. This means we need to recruit more boys!! We are challenging all girls to recruit a new boy partner to join so every girl can have a partner! This includes the younger teams. We will be offering special PARTNER SCHOLARSHIPS that will cover the tuition for Fall 2023 for which these new partners can apply, to make it easier for all girls to have a partner. The application will be at the end of this form. Scholarships will only be available for enough to equalize the classes. Full tuition paying dancers will be considered first for spots in classes.
*NEW THIS FALL - FALL PERFORMING/FUND RAISING TEAM
We will be offering a new auditioned performing/fund raising team Fall semester. To be considered you will need to have danced with American Rhythm Red or Blue the past year and know the dances from last year (because that is what we will be performing). Those on this team and those not on this team who find fund raising events for this team, will be ELIGIBLE TO EARN FINANCIAL CREDIT TOWARDS YOUR 2024 AMERICAN RHYTHM TOUR/S. To earn financial credit towards your 2024 tour, you must be currently and consistently enrolled in classes for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 to be learning the new dances for the 2024 tours, and you must audition, earn a position on a tour team and attend a 2024 tour. You can apply to be on this team without earning financial credit. There is no tuition for this team if you are also attending another weekly American Rhythm class. WE ARE HOPING TO PERFORM AND TEACH WORKSHOPS FOR CHURCH GROUPS, WORK AND FAMILY PARTIES, IN SCHOOLS AND ANY OTHER PLACE WHERE A LIVE BAND OR FOLK DANCE TEACHING/PERFORMING MIGHT BE DESIRED AS FUND RAISERS FOR THE PERFORMERS PLANNING TO TOUR. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU KNOW OF ANY GROUPS WHO ARE INTERESTED.
WHEN WILL CLASSES BE HELD?
The final Fall Class Schedule cannot be completed until enrollment is completed in early August. Please mark ALL times you could be available for classes because YOUR CLASS TIME WILL DEPEND ON YOUR SKILL/EXPERIENCE/AND MOST IMPORTANTLY YOUR AVAILABILITY. (American Rhythm Red and Blue will likely still be held on Thursday afternoon/evenings unless the enrollment is too high. In that case the classes may be split again and we will need to find another time to practice for some team members. The schedule for ALL other classes will be determined in early August after enrollment is complete.) The performing/fund raising team will likely hold some rehearsals on Saturday mornings to prepare for upcoming performances and fund raisers, however they will not be rehearsing every Saturday.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
TUITION is collected by the semester and averages out to be approximately $45/mo/student for a 1 hour weekly class and $60/mo/student for a 2 hour weekly class. There is a $5/mo/student sibling discount if multiple siblings enroll. IF YOU WISH TO PAY MONTHLY INSTEAD OF BY THE SEMESTER, THERE WILL BE A $5/MO/STUDENT EXTRA FEE. A SEMESTER COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED FOR ENROLLMENT TO ENSURE ALL STUDENTS HAVE A CLASS EACH SEMESTER. (Fall semester runs September - December and Spring Semester runs January - May). THERE IS A $100 YEARLY PRODUCTION FEE for each student that includes a team t-shirt, costume rental and helps cover a Spring recital that is free to enter for family and friends. We will also perform at Christmastime. There will be a few personal costume items you will need to purchase on your own. There is no tuition for the 2023 Fall Performing/Fund Raising Team if you are attending another weekly American Rhythm class. ALL PAYMENTS NEED TO BE MADE BY CHECK.
