Space is limited for this class. Based on interest, more classes may be held at a later date. Registration will be first-come-first-serve.
Author Elaine McAllister will be leading the month-long class on Wednesdays in November. The class will meet in the Hesston Public Library Community Room from 1-3 p.m. each Wednesday of the month.
McAllister will guide participants in researching ancestors, finding one specific ancestor to focus on, compiling family stories, verifying information through the use of genealogy websites and other official document searches and finally writing a compelling story about that ancestor's life.
During the course, McAllister will reach out to each participant via email and provide guidance, instruction and advice. If you are assisting a participant that does not utilize email, please contact Hesston Public Library for accommodations.
Hesston Public Library will be charged $50 for each registered participant. While the library will cover the costs of a limited number of participants, donations are appreciated to help off-set the costs of hosting the program.
