The goal of the Foster Care Program through Kern County Animal Services (KCAS) is to give special needs animals that might not otherwise be adoptable a second chance to find a loving home. Volunteer foster parents will provide temporary care for animals in the volunteer's home. This includes feeding, socializing, medicating, grooming, training foster animals according to the guidelines set forth by KCAS. Foster parents will return all foster animals to the shelter at the scheduled times, or at any time upon request of KCAS. Foster parents will provide the love, patience and dedication their fosterlings need.
If you feel this is something you can commit to, and that you are confident in your ability to keep this foster animal separate from other resident animals and people should an issue arise, please complete this form and tell us a little about you and your home situation.
