Mousetrap Vehicle Reflection
In Engineering we must learn from our mistakes & experiences.  We have completed a full engineering cycle with the mousetrap vehicle coming to a close.  It is now time to reflect on the experience with the goal of learning from it and carrying the knowledge gained forward to future activities.

Describe the engineering cycle.  Hint: a visual of this was included in the mousetrap vehicle design brief which can be found on the class website. *
In future projects which stage of the engineering cycle would you devote more attention to, if any.  If none, ie you feel that you maximized each stage, describe why you feel this to be so. *
During the design phase you were asked to make 'sketches' of possible design solutions prior to working with CAD.  This is a standard process in engineering, why do you think this is so? *
Designing relies on a firm understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, a tough thing to have without considerable experience.  What aspects of your project seemed good in design, but when met with reality needed rethinking? *
Engineering is often a team effort.  Most of you worked with others to complete this task.  Make a list of 'pros' and 'cons' you experienced when working in a team.  If you worked alone, make a list of 'pros' and 'cons' you believe can come from this. *
What do you feel is the most important quality a good team member could exhibit? *
If you were able to tackle this task again, knowing what you know, what would be your number one focus area to improve your results? *
Time & money are typically major influencers on engineering projects.  This project didn't involve money, but it did involve time.  Rate, on a scale of one to ten your use of the time provided (keep in mind that the project overshot it's expected time frame by more than a week and in the 'real world' this could result in a considerable cost overrun).   *
very poor
Excellent
Provide an explanation for why you rated your use of time as you did. *
Create one additional reflection question that you feel would be useful to answer after working on a project such as this one. *
