I'm so excited to share that 2024 Author Interview spots are now available!! I had so much fun with those that I got to interview in 2020 and 2021. I can't wait to bring more your way. I know that some are nervous about being on camera, but it really is just friends talking about the things we love. It's so much fun and you can ask previous interviewees, it goes really fast. I've had some questions about what it is we are doing, so I thought I'd provide some answers....read on:

**What is the purpose of the interview?
Back in 2013, I started doing author spotlights on my blog. It was such a fun way to get to know others in the book world and share them with my readers. I found that talking with them inspired me because their passion for writing was contagious. Then life happened - I got caught up in writing and other endeavors - and the interviews disappeared. Cut to 2020 and COVID - I needed something good...something to entertain and occupy my time...so the interviews came back. But this time - we're recording!! The purpose of these interviews is to share a piece of you - the author - with the readers who love you!

**How do the interviews work?
When you fill out this form, we email you to confirm your selected date. We ask that you choose 2 dates on this form, just in case your first choice is taken. Once scheduled, we will send you details about the interview process and ask some preliminary questions. The actual interview takes 30-45 minutes to conduct and then it's on to the editing.

**30-45 minutes is a long time! I can barely watch a 5 minute video!
We hear you! Which is why we allow for a 30-45 minute time frame for content. The completed interview is typically edited down to be a 15 minute video (max!).

**When do the interviews air?
Interviews will be released on my Youtube channel on Fridays at 3pm. We will provide a link that you can share once it has posted. 

**What do I need to do?
Once the interview is complete, we will send you promo graphics and an interview trailer that we ask you share on your SM pages. We will post them on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Threads. Once the interview is live, the more you share and post, the better it will do, so we will continue sharing it on our stories and tagging you. We ask you to share in your reader groups or on any event pages you are scheduled to attend. It's a great way for readers to get to know you better.

**I'd love to gain more SM followers, can I give you my links?
Wouldn't we all? LOL! Your links are a necessity! Please provide all links that you use to promote yourself and we will add them to the interview, as well as in any promos we share. We definitely want to get you as much exposure on SM as we can.

**Can I do a giveaway with my interview?
Absolutely. This is your interview. You want to do a signed paperback giveaway, mail out swag, whatever you want. Just provide us the details prior to the interview and we will be sure to include that. Please note, the author is responsible for the giveaway unless otherwise agreed upon.

**What if I say something that could be taken out of context? I don't want to embarrass myself.
Sometimes we put our foot in our mouth. It happens. But this is NOT about embarrassing you or messing with your career. We want to celebrate and promote you - get to know you. We make sure to show the best parts of you so we have the option for you to preview the interview prior to its release. Remember that 30-45 minutes to set aside for the interview? That gives us enough material to make sure we have content that showcases YOU - not your flubs. If you would like to watch it ahead of time, please let us know.

**Is this for authors ONLY?
Nope! If you're a blogger, a cover designer, editor, event coordinator, swag creator - anyone who works in the book world - we'd love to hear from you too. Please fill out the form and we'll be in contact.

**I'm not an author, but I would love for you to interview my favorite! Can I fill this form out?
Absolutely. Please understand, your favorite author may be working on deadlines or have other events going on, but we will definitely reach out to them to see if we can get them scheduled. Just fill out this form, making sure to complete questions 1 & 2. If you want us to keep you updated about their interview, please provide your name and email address in the comments.

All interviews are done on Mondays or Tuesdays, unless there is an extenuating circumstance.
