These are some of the core qualities we are looking for in those who serve in the grief support ministry. Which of these best describe you?

COMPASSIONATE – But not enablers. We must possess a heart for those who are hurting
RELATIONAL – Leaders must be willing to commit the time and tenderness to express Christian love and acceptance toward the participants.
BOUNDARIES –It's ok to say no. Not our role to "fix" everything.
SPIRITUALLY STABLE – Committed Christians with a knowledge of salvation and biblical accuracy.
TEACHABLE – “A man who will not follow, should not lead.” Ben Franklin was right! None of us have all the answers.
AVAILABLE – We don't want you to be over-committed in life.
CONFIDENTIAL – Numerous things are shared both in and outside of the group that should never leave the group.
RESTORED – My own heart is healed. No bitterness or a need to retell “my story.” My life has stabilized as much as possible.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR – Willing to facilitate and not dominate the group.
PREVIOUSLY EXPERIENCED THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE – This is preferable, but not mandatory.
