Rise: Building Your Empire is an 8 week Business Accelerator focused on educating, equipping and empowering urban, minority and women entrepreneurs to be successful in designing and developing a successful and sustainable business model. The cohort begins Thursday October 5th and ends November 30th
We are looking for community leaders, influencers and changemakers willing to provide intentional mentorship to start-up business ventures throughout the duration of the accelerator.
Cohort Mentorship is very
flexible and works around your own schedule, consisting of a weekly zoom meeting with your business mentee at a time and for a duration of time that is convenient for the mentor. (Averaging 30-45 minutes). All mentors will be provided with an overview of the instruction and coursework for the week so as to be on the same page as their mentee.
We do our best to pair mentors with a business mentee based on gifting and industry expertise and need.
There will be an opportunity to meet and interview potential mentees in-person during our kick-off "speed-dating" networking event on Thursday September 28st at 7 pm at Port KC (Berkley Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64120)
All mentors are given the opportunity to request their top mentee choices and we do our best to accommodate these preferences. Mentors who cannot attend this event will be emailed a list of all entrepreneurs and their businesses, and then also given an opportunity to choose their top choices for a business mentee.
Our business program culminates with a Community Pitch Presentation to be held Saturday December 16th. This is not a required event, but please feel free to attend to support your business mentee if at all able.
