For our final Parent Education Series of the academic year, Kelly Teran will present: Gifted &Talented Assessments: What Do the Scores Mean?"
Please join us in learning more about the assessments used as part of the Adams 12 gifted and talented identification process. We will take a look at the commonly used assessments, what the batteries measure, and what this means in terms of thinking and learning for your gifted child. We will also share some highlights and happenings in the Advanced Academic & Gifted Services (AAGS) department so far this school year.
Kelly Teran began her career in Adams 12 19 years ago in special education, where she discovered her passion for gifted and talented learners. She was a middle school science teacher and the school GT Coordinator at Hulstrom K-8 for many years before stepping into her current position as the Adams 12 District Gifted Specialist K-12. Kelly is a mother of three children, two identified gifted and one in the talent pool. Her two older sons attended Hulstrom K-8 and one took part in the IB Program at Thornton High School and the other attended the Business Program at Mountain Range High School. Her daughter will be attending Rocky Top Middle School next year. She continues to find inspiration through her personal and professional experiences and is extremely honored to be a part of the Adams 12 gifted community.
**Reservations are required for childcare for this meeting. Childcare will be available for children who are potty trained and from 3 to 11 years of age. Snacks, food, and drinks other than water will not be provided nor allowed due to safety and allergy risks. To make a childcare reservation, contact Frances Mullins at 720-972-4007 or frances.mullins@adams12.org prior to the A12GTPG meeting. Please provide the full name and age of the child and a contact number for the parent attending the meeting. Space is limited so please make a reservation to ensure your childcare spot. Only if there is adequate space will children who do not have a reservation be provided childcare.
