APMHA have joined forces with the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health - Emerging Minds to develop a hybrid training package combining online and face to face methods for mental health clinicians to expand their current scope of practice to include children's mental health service provision, which is funded under PHN programs.

This training is sponsored by APMHA and is free for APMHA clinicians. There are currently 15 funded places available so please ensure you register ASAP to be included in this rare and unique opportunity to access localised accredited training.

The face to face modules will be delivered in either Shepparton or Benalla in Victoria. Venue confirmation will be sent upon registering.

Please Note: You must be able to commit to all online and face to face sessions in order to be considered for this opportunity.

Program Outline

Month 1
On line modules:
• Child Mental Health  - 6 hours
• Trauma and the child - 3 hours

Full day face to face workshop:
• Child Mental Health bringing the learning from online learning into practice.       Date: 17th August 2019
This one day workshop will bring theory presented in the Child Mental Health and Trauma and the Child into practice:

Month 2  
On Line module:  
• Let’s talk about Children (6 hours) including assessment

Two consecutive days face to face workshop (12 Hours)
Day one: Considering child mental health in the context of family   Date: 6th September 2019
Day two: Let’s talk about children – practical application           Date 7th September 2019

Month 3
• Self-selected learning – Up to 6 hours of online module/s - topics of your own choice

Follow up support will be offered via zoom for small groups.  This will be offered in 2 x 1 hour blocks.  

Total learning hours estimated at 36-40 hours depending on speed of learning in the online platform.
