Hometown Festival Downhill Derby Registration
The Round Hill - Down Hill Derby is a once-a-year opportunity for you to race down a closed off-street course in the Town of Round Hill!  Racers will run multiple heat races, and ribbons will be awarded for fastest runs. There will be separate divisions for homemade and kit cars; total number of driver entrants will be limited to 16. We may have a run-off to determine the King or Queen of the Hill for each vehicle class! The races are open to pre-registered drivers between 6 and 17 years old who can safely operate their vehicle down the course. Safety helmets and seat belts required. Come out and show us what you've got!

Derby cars must comply with the published rules of the Derby, which can be found at: https://hometownfestival.org/about/downhill-derby/.
  • Each car must have a parent (or other responsible adult) who can help manage the racer and the car during the race.
  • All derby car drivers and their parent are required to attend a drivers’ meeting one hour prior to the race start.
Registration fee: $10 per derby racer, due with your registration form. Payment can be made through Paypal at the following link: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=63F7QGUGBKNM4&source=url&ssrt=1683311608743 or be dropped off at the Round Hill Town Office no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, May 23, or the information table in the Town Park by 2 p.m. on the day of the race.

  • Families with multiple drivers are asked to submit a separate registration form for each driver; no more than two drivers per car without prior permission from race director.
  • Each racer is required to have a parent or guardian present during the Downhill Derby to supervise their racer and/or volunteer in some way for the event.
  • Payment may be made in a single transaction. If using PayPal, please note the payment is for the derby.

Weigh-in:                    Between 1 and 2:30 p.m. race day; coordinate with race director to set time
Drivers’ Meeting:      2:30 p.m. at the starting line/ramps (Intersection of High Street and N. Locust Street.)
Races:                         Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 3:30 p.m.
Location:                     Racers will run down N. Locust St. from High St. down toward W. Loudoun St.

We need volunteers to help with course and event set-up on Friday, start and finish line crews and timers for race day and course take down after race.  Email info@hometownfestival.org or use Sign-Up Genius to volunteer.
