SETON CATHOLIC CENTRAL TUITION ASSISTANCE - 2023-2024
In order to be considered and qualify for any Local Tuition Assistance, the FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment application must first be completed.  Instructions for completing this application were included in the e-mail you received.  Both the FACTS application and this local assistance application must be submitted by the February 15th deadline.  If applying after this date you may not be eligible for Diocesan tuition assistance.  However, you will be considered for local sources.  Please contact the Guidance Office at 607-723-5307 with any questions.  

Once the tuition assistance process is complete, each family will be notified by email, detailing each source of tuition assistance received.

Individual Sources of Tuition Assistance available at Seton Catholic Central
Please read the requirements of each source since they may require additional documents to qualify (i.e. - Essay, letter of recommendation).  Families may apply to as many sources as they like.  Please note that although a family may apply for multiple sources, they may not all be awarded to that family.  Tuition assistance is limited and is distributed among all families who apply and qualify.  The award amounts can vary.  For each source below, please enter the name of the student(s) applying.  You can enter more than one name below if you have more than one student attending Seton.
The Ahern Family Award
Eligibility:  Must be a resident of Broome County, have financial need and be a student entering Grade 9.  Award: Annually to three students, for the full period of attendance at Seton Catholic Central, as long as the students remain in good standing.  To Qualify:  Ask one current teacher to send a letter of recommendation to the Seton Catholic Central Scholarship Committee stating your academic status and service to your school.  (Enter student(s) name(s) below)
Leo P. Gallagher Foundation Fund
Sponsored by family and friends of the Gallagher family.  Eligibility:  All students entering Grade 9 are eligible to apply and must show service to school, family and Church.  Award: Awarded to one student annually, for their full period of attendance at Seton Catholic Central, as long as the student remains in good standing.  To Qualify:  Write a letter to the Seton Catholic Central Scholarship Committee demonstrating academic performance consistent with ability.  Financial hardship is also a factor in determining the recipient.  (Enter student(s) name(s) below)
Patricia Campbell Award
Miss Patricia Campbell was a graduate of Marywood University and taught for several years in the public school system.  In her retirement years, she volunteered her tutoring service to students at Seton Catholic Central. She was a strong advocate for students wishing to attend our Catholic high school.   Eligibility:  All students grades 9-12, with financial need, may apply. Financial need, along with a desire to improve one's academic performance.   Award: Awarded annually to multiple students.  To Qualify:  Ask one current teacher to send a letter of recommendation to the Seton Catholic Central Scholarship Committee stating your academic status and desire for continued academic growth.  (Enter student(s) name(s) below.
Patricia Murphy Scholarship
The Patricia Murphy Scholarship is a 100% tuition assistance grant for one school year, awarded annually in the spring for the subsequent SCC school year, to a deserving female Seton Catholic Central (SCC) student. This Scholarship recognizes students who exhibit the values of academic achievement, leadership, strong work ethic, participation in at least one junior varsity or varsity sport and involvement in the Catholic Church and local community. To Qualify:  Submit a one page essay outlining your belief that you exemplify these values.   (Enter student(s) name(s) below)
Pineau Awards
Sponsored by the Vestal Knights of Columbus.  Eligibility:  Incoming Freshman only, with financial need.  Award: Awarded annually to 4 students for each year they remain at Seton Catholic Central.  To Qualify:  Ask a current teacher to send a letter of recommendation to the Seton Catholic Central Scholarship Committee and submit a student-written 200 word essay on "What Catholic Schools Mean To Me" to the Scholarship Committee.  (Enter student(s) name(s) below)
St. John Vianney Award for Catholic Service
Sponsored by the Catholic Parishes of Broome County.  Eligibility:  Kindergarten through Grade 6 students only, with financial need.  Award: Awarded annually to students who are active parishioners of a local Catholic Church and serve in some capacity to help the Church or the community.  This includes but is not limited to altar serving, assisting with the various ministries, decorating the Church at Easter and Christmas, to name a few.  To Qualify:  A student must complete 10 service hours each quarter and submit a detailed list of the activites to the school secretary.  (Enter student(s) name(s) below)
