Thank you for your interest in restoring local ecosystems alongside Grassroots Ecology as a middle school or high school volunteer Youth Steward. Learn more about our middle school, high school, and community college Youth Stewards volunteer cohorts.
  • We expect this application to be filled by the student, not by their guardian/parent.
  • Please make sure your email address is entered correctly – this is how we will contact you regarding your interest form. All participants must complete an interest form and online liability waiver before volunteering.
  • The first session at Redwood Grove Nature Preserve begins on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 3:30 PM. 
  • The first sessions at Arastradero Preserve, Foothills Nature Preserve, McClellan Ranch Preserve, and Stulsaft Park begin on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 3:30 PM.

We will have 4 available placement sites for high school aged volunteers and 1 location accepting 6th-10th graders. If selected, you will be placed with one group for the entire duration of the program. If you have a preference, select up to 2 choices from the list below. We always do our best to accommodate your preferences, but please note that there are limited spots for each site, and we cannot guarantee you will receive your requested placement. *

Do you anticipate any absences during the Youth Stewards volunteer program? If so, when? Meeting times are Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5:30pm, either starting January 17, 2024 for Redwood Grove OR starting January 31, 2024 for Arastradero, Foothills, McClellan, and Stulsaft. This is for our planning purposes only and will not affect your acceptance to the program.
