Procedures for Sanctioning
- Submission of the SOS Event Sanction Request form must be received at least four weeks prior to the event.
- All Event Sanction Requests are subject to approval by Special Olympics Saskatchewan.
- SOS will notify the host of the event in writing when the Event Sanction Request is approved/denied.
- A summary report and copy of the official results must be submitted to SOS no later than 10 days following the event or competition.  

Objectives of Event Sanctioning
- To improve consistency in hosting events and competitions.
- To improve communication between Special Olympics Saskatchewan and its membership.
- To provide information needed for the organization of competitions.

Benefits of Event Sanctioning
- Coverage under Sask Sport Liability Insurance for the sanctioned event.
- Coverage under SOC Insurance.
- Special Olympics Saskatchewan web page promotion of the event or championship.
- Access to the SOS services to help assist in the planning of the sanctioned event.
- Avoid conflicts with similar SOS sanctioned events.

Out-of-Province and Out-of-Country Travel
In recognizing the benefits achieved by participants traveling to events out of the province and country,
Special Olympics Saskatchewan has developed guidelines for groups interested in such
opportunities.

If this competition requires out-of-province or out-of-country travel, please answer the following questions. If it does not, please proceed to the end of this form. 

Please note: proof of medical insurance is only necessary for out-of-country travel

Please list the name of all potential athletes and coaches below. 7 days prior to the competition, please send a complete finalized roster to the Program Coordinator. 
Estimated Total Revenue: Please indicate any revenues  and stating where the revenue came from.  Such as:  Player fees, Community Support, Fundraising, Donations, Grants, Gifts in Kind, or other.
Estimated Total Expenses: Please indicate the total expenses generated from the event and stating where the expenses came from.  Such as: registration, accommodations, travel, etc.
If Out-of-Country travel is required, have you already purchased out-of-country medical insurance? If yes, please send a copy of the certificate and/or document to the Program Coordinator at bweisgerber@specialolympics.sk.ca. If no, please reach out to the Program Coordinator for further instruction.
