2021 LDF Volunteer Jobs & Availability
We are looking for amazing people to join our Volunteer team for our LDF 2021 Fall Festival. This year the festival will take place in Ivey Park on Saturday September 18. Local dance artists will perform unique dance works for the audience and workshops will be available for all ages in a variety of styles.

This event is a great opportunity to experience outdoors performances and support local talent in the Forest City. If you are looking to volunteer for a couple of hours, we have a spot for you!

We welcome volunteers of all ages to have fun and support performing arts. Volunteer hours can be put towards the Ontario Secondary School community service requirement, a volunteer reference letter, or both upon request.

Please tell us about yourself and your availability for that day. Thank you in advance for all your support, we could not do this without the community's help. Email us at info@londondancefestival.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

VOLUNTEER JOBS
For the 2021 festival, all volunteers will be required to wear masks. Some tasks may also require eye protection (face shield or goggles). You will be asked COVID screening questions and trained in the festival safety procedures before you begin your volunteer shift.

Promotions:
You will help the festival team put up and take down signs, hand out flyers and programs, talk to patrons about the event and help orient other volunteers. You’ll also help festival staff communicate with each other around the event site.

Technical Assistant:
You’ll assist the technical director and festival team by carrying audio and event equipment to and from the stage site, set-up and take-down, and supervising the stage area throughout the day. Familiarity with audio equipment is not necessary, but certainly helpful! Must be comfortable with some heavy lifting. This job may require eye protection (face shield/goggles).

Safety & Security:
You’ll be responsible for supervising the event site and festival equipment. You’ll ensure that patrons use the designated entrance/exit for the event site, and assist festival staff in ensuring that the COVID safety plan is being followed at all times. This job may involve some heavy lifting, and may require eye protection (face shield/goggles).

Greeters/Ushers:
You will greet patrons when they arrive at the event site, make sure they’re registered to attend, ask them basic health screening questions, and explain our safety procedures. You’ll help patrons find their designated workshop or seating area, and generally direct people moving around inside the event site. This job may require eye protection (face shield/goggles).

Chalk Art Assistants:
Help us create a dance map through Ivey Park pathways with illustrations to inspire movement. Chalk Art Assistants will take direction from the “Chalk Boss,” Carrie Blackwell, a professional visual artist. No drawing experience is needed, but you MUST enjoy creating chalk art! This job will require you to be out in the sun on hot pavement, water and breaks will be provided.
