APPLICATION INFORMATION
Please know what you are getting into when you reserve a puppy.
Puppies are babies and no matter how well-raised or trained should be expected to cry, bark, and have accidents, often at very inconvenient times and places.
They need attention and love and work.
You should be prepared to spend time frequently during the day caring for and working with your puppy. Regular grooming is also necessary. While we breed for coats that are as easy to care for as possible, Doodles have long hair and still require regular grooming or your dog can get severely matted, which can cause them great discomfort and pain.
Many puppies, including Goldendoodles, can have excitement urination (this is not the same as submissive urination). This goes away as the puppy matures, but should be expected as a possibility while your puppy is young. For more information, please read this link.
There's no such thing as a "calm" Doodle puppy.
Puppies by nature are high energy.
Some are higher energy than others, but no healthy Goldendoodle puppy is calm and quiet all the time.
If you think you want a really calm puppy, please get an adult dog or a cat.
However, we start your puppy off right and if you keep up with the training and impulse control we start, then you will have a lovely, calm, biddable, easy-going adult and will have had the wonderful bonding experience of helping your puppy develop into that sweet, confident adult.
It typically takes about 2 years for Goldendoodles to mellow and for their puppy energy level to go down.
IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR ALL OF THIS, PLEASE DO NOT GET A PUPPY FROM ANYBODY.
There are no wrong answers. We specialize in first-time puppy owners and do not automatically refuse families with small children or who live in apartments/condos like some other breeders do. We take each applicant into consideration individually and look at each applicant as a whole.
