Shared / Master Record Environment
This survey will examine the practice of using a shared or master record bibliographic record in an ILS, i.e., one bib record is shared amongst more than 1 library. Results of this survey will be combined with a literature review and case studies to discuss the benefits and disadvantages to this approach for technical services work. If you work with bibliographic records (regardless if you share a record in your ILS with other libraries or not), please consider taking this brief survey.
