Parents of children wishing to cycle or scoot to school, and use the cycle shelter for storage, will need to apply for permission to do so. Any previous permission slips do not apply. Priority will be given to children who have passed the Bikeability course, then by year group starting with Year 6, down to Year 3. We will try to accommodate younger siblings where possible, but it is inevitable that some younger children will miss out as there is limited storage space.

Cycles and scooters must be stored correctly in the racks provided. A lock must be used.

Children must wear a cycle helmet whilst riding their bike or scooter to and from school.

Cycles and scooters must not be ridden across the playground or around the edge of the infant playground, but rather they must be pushed, walking by the side.

Neither the Governors, Headteacher nor Essex County Council can be held responsible for the safety of cycles and scooters, nor any attachments thereto, nor the contents of any such attachments.

Neither the Governors, Headteacher nor Essex County Council can be held responsible for the cyclist's safety whilst travelling to and from school on their bicycle or scooter.

The dangerous misuse of a cycle or scooter by its owner will result in approval being withdrawn.
