This registry is created for the benefit and peace of mind for the residents of DeKalb County, Alabama.  During tornadoes and severe storms or times where using individual storm shelters is necessary, there is a possibility of the occupant becoming trapped inside the shelter due to debris blocking the doorway.

This registry will be issued to public safety services should an area be impacted and residents cannot be located so the individual storm shelters can be ruled out as a location for those missing.
