Kanani Pua 2023-24
Dear Student and Parents,

Aloha, and welcome to Kanani Pua Dance!  I am excited to start the new year with beautiful Polynesian dance movements from the islands of Hawaii and Tahit!

The name Kanani Pua, comes from my middle name, Kanani and of course my last name Pua (married name).  I am originally from Kahuku, Hawaii, where I started dancing at the age of 8 in a Hula Halau in Hau’ula.  I then danced for the Polynesian Cultural Center: Promotional team, Luau and Night Show.  Upon leaving Hawaii for college in 2001, I decided to continue my love for dancing by teaching it to anyone who has the same passion for dance!  I’ve danced and helped choreograph many Polynesian dances in Utah.

We are blessed to have Tony Paialii as our instructor, coach, choreographer, musician, drummer, and much more.  Having had experience from a young age and performing all over the U.S.  He has worked with Disney world, Disney, participated in various Ori Tahiti group and solo competitions.

Pasi Larsen is also one of our amazing instructors! She has danced at the Polynesian Cultural center, has choreographed dances for Kanani Pua, ran her own dance business and has training from other exceptional dance artists.  We are so blessed to have her!

I hope you will enjoy your time at Kanani Pua Dance and hope that you will use your skills and talents learned from this group to share at family gatherings, celebrations and other events.
