About ComSciCon
ComSciCon is a unique professional development experience, which will provide graduate student attendees with a fantastic opportunity to convene in Boston, MA to meet young leaders in the communication of science, learn from, and interact with a remarkable group of invited experts, and produce work communicating complex technical concepts from science and engineering to a new audience.

Attendance at ComSciCon is limited to current (or recently graduated) graduate students that reside at US or Canadian institutions. International students who study at US and Canadian institutions are gladly welcomed.
We are excited that ComSciCon is scheduled to be held in person, though this will remain dependent on changing COVID policy. Necessary  precautions will be taken to keep everyone safe (see section "COVID prevention regulations & Vaccination requirement" below).
We unfortunately cannot accept students travelling to this event from outside the US or Canada. Recent graduates must have graduated no earlier than December 2023.

Application, registration, and attendance at the workshop is free of charge for accepted applicants. Full or partial travel support will be provided to accepted applicants from the US or Canada who would need to travel to the Boston area, and housing nearby to the conference venue will be provided.

Attendees to ComSciCon are required to attend the entire workshop.

ComSciCon applications are competitive and we encourage applicants to prepare their responses carefully.
Will you be able to attend the entire workshop? *
The workshop will take place 19-22 July, 2023 in Boston, MA. Housing and full or partial travel support will be provided to all accepted attendees; more details follow in the application. Attendees to ComSciCon are required to attend the entire workshop.
Essay Questions & Saving Your Progress
The following questions will form the foundation of your application. You may seek input from others on your answers to the questions below, but the work should be your own. Each response has a character limit (including spaces), and they can be answered on Page 3 of the application.

We are providing them for you here so you can consider your responses before beginning the application. However, you will be able to save your progress before answering these questions by submitting an unfinished application and returning to edit it later.
