The Isolation Station is a platform set up by The Observer Building and The Common Treasury of Adaptable Ideas in partnership with a whole host of members of the Hastings community. We're encouraging everyone to stay connected during the Covid-19 lock down by live streaming from home.
Music, artists, performers, local businesses and all our brilliant people - let's stay together online and get through this!! We're going to be streaming live chats, music, local news, classes and a bunch of other stuff - we don't quite know what yet - but we’re asking those who would like to contribute to get in touch by filling out this google form and we’ll be in touch.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?
The simple concept is to ‘air lift’ the atmosphere of Hastings into people’s homes, provide a platform for creativity in these unprecedented times and hopefully raise small amounts of money for performers, staff and others in need.
WHAT CONTENT DO WE WANT?
The one rule we have is that shows must be live streamed or pre-recorded from the contributors home with any guests joining on a ‘Zoom’ call. After that, it’s up to you. It could be a pub quiz, a dance class, art workshop, live gig, something informative or something completely weird and wonderful. We prefer slots of at least one hour and encourage formats to include interactivity with those watching from home.
TECH
All you need is a computer, phone or tablet with good internet connection. You can either:
Stream to your own facebook channel and we can share the stream
Stream directly to our facebook and Insta channel
Use ‘Zoom’ to run an interactive class (like a pub quiz or workshop) and then we can broadcast the class on our channel (see
zoom.us for more)
MONEY
For those of you who understandably need to earn money, we suggest setting up an account with Ko-Fi, which allows viewers to donate directly to you if they choose. , We will NOT set up a paywall whereby viewers HAVE to pay to watch content.
