Hello Coaches!  Join the OASSA 7th & 8th Grade Cheer & Dance Coaches Committee.  OASSA Coaches Committees and the Steering Committee are designed to be advisory in nature, working with the OASSA Director of Cheer & Dance Programs.  The committee is open to discuss rules, regulations, scoresheets, rubrics, ways to improve, ways to grow, etc.  It is open to ALL coaches.  Please answer the below questions and we will be in touch!

  • Steering Committee Objectives:

    • Provide advice, guidance, help make formal decisions from topics brought up in meeting(s), help funnel feedback and help maintain consistency within the Coaches Committee.  

    • Meet after each Coaches Committee Meeting to discuss topics.

    • Term Length - 2 years

  • Individual Representative Role:

    • Focus on outreach within your Region.

      • Reach out to Coaches 

      • Promote OASSA Cheer & Dance events

    • Provide Feedback on the “pulse” of cheer and dance in your region.

      • What are you hearing within your District/Region in regards to Cheer/Dance?  

      • Competitions, a school started a cheer/dance team, etc.

    • Assist with creating the Agenda for each Coaches Committee Meeting

  • “At-Large” Representative Role:

    • Act as the recorder of minutes for each meeting.  Due 24 hours after each meeting.

    • Ensure meetings run smoothly and achieve the objectives.

    • All roles under the Individual Representative Role.
