This $500 annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating Glassboro High School senior who will be attending a two or four year college in New Jersey and plans to major in art, education or science. Special education majors are strongly encouraged to apply!
The scholarship is named after two GHS alumnae. Former Glassboro School Board member, the late Anthony Mirenda, Jr., was a teacher of special needs students and went on to become an assistant superintendent of schools in Gloucester Township, New Jersey. James Mirenda taught the sciences in area high schools and spent the major part of his career as a professor of biology at Gloucester County College (now RCSJ).
The information provided in this form, plus your transcript and two (2) letters of recommendation will be provided to the scholarship sponsor. If you do not have two letters of recommendation in Naviance, please email your letters to
nsapanara@gpsd.us. You will also need to provide a copy of your letter of acceptance to your NJ college of choice.
The deadline for this submission is 12:00 pm (noon), Friday, April 26, 2024. No late submissions will be accepted.
