Audition Forms due by March 1, 2022

Saturday March 19, 2022 - William R. Johnson Coliseum

All candidates for SFA Twirl-O-Jack for the Lumberjack Marching Band will be taught a dance twirl routine choreographed by the Twirl-O-Jack Coordinator, Candice Curbow.  T-O-J Candidates will learn the routine during morning rehearsal and return after lunch for a brief review session. T-O-J auditions will begin at 1:30 p.m., immediately following feature twirler auditions at the William R. Johnson Coliseum, located on the SFA campus.

***Purple Team*** Requirements
Twirlers wishing to be considered for the purple team will need to do as follows:
1. Complete the T-O-J group audition process (details above)
2. Audition with a prepared 2-3 minute solo
3. Be prepared to demonstrate the following:
     *3-turn (vertical)
     *Toss Illusion (front, back or both)
     *3 baton juggles with loops
     *3 baton box
     *strong fundamentals in multi-baton tricks
     *rolls
     *advanced bodywork (leaps, illusions, splits)

Audition Schedule: Saturday, March 19, 2022
8:00 a.m. Candidates report to the William R. Johnson Coliseum
        Stretch & Warm-Up
8:30 a.m. Instruction of group audition routine begins
12:00 p.m. Lunch on your own
1:00 p.m. Floor open to all candidates for practice
1:30 p.m. Feature Twirler Auditions, followed by T-O-J Group Auditions & Purple Team auditions      

*Candidates have the option of providing two letters of recommendation. These letters may be emailed to twirlojacks@gmail.com or mailed/faxed to the SFA band office at the address provided in the audition packet.

*Head and Assistant Head T-O-J Candidates are required to write a letter to the judges, explaining why she should be selected as the leader for the T-O-J's.

*Prep Classes will be offered prior to auditions to help prepare T-O-J Candidates for auditions. This class is strongly encouraged for first year candidates. Registration for Prep Class is available on our website at www.twirlojacks.com. Dates for face to face classes TBA!!
