Cedar Park United is offering this 5-session programme for youth in grades 6 through 11. The Youth Spirit Quest will begin in the forest and offer a safe, LGBTQ+-affirming and respectful space for exploring questions (not providing all the answers) around spirituality, ethics, life choices, and identity within the human (and holy) story.
Youth to do not have to be worshippers at Cedar Park United or have any religious tradition at all in order to participate. Participants will agree to treat others' religious and spiritual traditions with respect.
YSQ will take place outside and inside and include food, fun and some seriously good conversation with Rev. Elisabeth Jones, minister here at Cedar Park United, and Martha Randy, Family and Youth Ministries Coordinator.
The cost (to cover supplies and food) is $40 per youth. If the cost would keep you from participating, please let us know below as bursaries are available.
Here are the five in-person YSQ dates:
- Sunday, May 5: "Forest cathedral" walk at l’Anse à l’Orme park (afternoon)
- Sunday, May 12: Supper at Rev. Elisabeth's home (evening)
- Saturday, June 1: Social action event (afternoon to evening, location TBC)
- Saturday, June 15: Twilighting (evening; ends at Cedar Park United)
