Bachtour 2027 Interest Form
Mark A. Boyle is planning a roughly week long tour in the 300th Anniversary Year of Johann Sebastian Bach's Matthäuspassion. Mark has studied this work for over two decades and it holds a special place in his heart. He has performed, lectured on, and written program notes for BWV 244.

Interested in taking part in this tour, centered around the actual 300th anniversary date (Sunday, April 11th, 2027) of the work's premiere at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig? Add your contact below! For church musicians, this is AFTER Easter.

The tour, while still in its planning stages, will include at least three performances of BWV 244 in Germany and possibly the Netherlands, as well as pre-trip lectures and Q & A sessions with Mark and other scholars!

While its a bit challenging to estimate cost this far in advance, a safe range would likely be $2500-$3000, which would include airfare (a large variable, particularly with a wide geographical range of possible participants), lodging, tickets, ground transport, one meal per day, and all pre-trip activities.

For those who like to plan finances, if you started saving $65/month now, you'd have over $3000 by 2027.
