A Rider who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury in a VTYC Event or who is suffering the effects of a concussion sustained outside of an VTYC Event, shall be immediately removed from the Event for the remainder of the day and shall not be permitted to return to the Event or any subsequent Event until he/she is evaluated by a licensed health care provider. If a Rider sustains an injury that requires follow-up care by a doctor then that Rider must provide a letter authorizing “Return to Play” to his/her Head Coach prior to participatory return to Team or VTYC Events.
Fact Sheet for Youth Sports - CDC
I have read and understand the guidelines provided to me by VTYC and I will...
1. Report any concussion or concussion like symptoms that occur during practice or games.
2. Report any concussion or concussion like symptoms that occur as a result of injury outside of practice.
3. We have read and understand the VTYC policy regarding concussion management and return to sports.
4. We understand that medical clearance after a concussive injury clears a rider to start the return to play protocol not to immediately return to full participation.
