We invite you to participate in our research project focusing on maladaptive daydreaming and memory. This study aims to enhance understanding of the relationship between these phenomenon and their impact on individuals and their daily lives, hoping that the data we collect could inform future treatments.

Who Can Participate?

Dear invitee,

We kindly request your participation in a research study conducted by the University of Haifa as part of an MA dissertation, under the guidance of Prof. Eli Somer and Dr. Oren Herscu. The research focuses on daydreaming with the intention of expanding knowledge on the nature of daydreaming, specifically on Maladaptive Daydreaming.

The benefits of participating in this research include sharing personal knowledge and experiences with the research and clinical communities, which could assist in the identification and treatment of this phenomenon.

The study involves completing an 8-part questionnaire, which should take about 30 minutes. It is highly important to read the instructions before answering and to complete all parts. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you could fill out the questionnaire according to the instructions provided. 

It's important to note:

  •  This study is completely voluntary. Your decision will be respected whether or not you choose to participate.
  • Your participation is completely anonymous. The researcher will not use your personal information for any purposes outside of this research project. Therefore, your name or any other identifying information will not be included in the study reports, and your personal information will be kept separate from your answers.
  • If you decide to join the study now, you can still change your mind later. You may stop at any time.
  • If you have questions now or at a later time, you may contact the researcher and ask any questions you have before you begin the survey.
  • Should you feel emotional distress following your participation, you are advised to contact a mental health professional or call your local psychological help line.
Participation in any research involves some risk of minor discomforts that can be encountered in daily life, such as fatigue, stress, or concerns about your mental health. However, being in this study would not pose a risk to your safety or wellbeing.
