Intersections: A Resource Centre for Marginalized Genders is currently the only student-run, feminist organization on campus, funded by both MUN Student's Union and Student Affairs and Services. We consist of a collective of active, committed volunteers dedicated to the physical, emotional, and psychological wellness of all people with marginalized genders. As such, our purpose spans across a broad spectrum, both in meeting the individual needs of the visitors to our Centre, as well as working toward personal wellness, awareness, education, and advocacy for the community as a whole.
Being a volunteer at Intersections requires a
time commitment of 2 hours per week of volunteer hours, and
attendance at least two out of three mandatory meetings each semester.
Volunteer training will take place virtually through self-learning, with an in-person component hosted by a senior volunteer.
Please note that to volunteer with us you must be a MUN student who identifies as a marginalized gender. If you are not a marginalized gender, you are still welcome to participate in center activities and events, but not as a formal volunteer.
The purpose of this application form is to get to know you better! While Intersections reserves the right to reject an application, this will only be done if the applicant does not meet our eligibility requirements. Once registration closes,
you will be contacted via email with more information about interviews and the location of our upcoming volunteer training. Please contact us at
intersections@munsu.ca if you have any questions or concerns about this application form or Intersections in general.
