The Federation of Medical Women of Canada (FMWC) is now accepting abstract submissions for in-person poster presentations during our 2023 AGM & Conference taking place Sept. 23-24 at Hotel Arts in Calgary, Alberta.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, August 31, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST (Authors will be informed of abstract status the following week).
The theme of this year's conference is Heath Advocates: Creating Connections, Synthesizing Energies. Session will focus on topics including leadership, equity gaps in access, wellness, advocacy skills development and more. There's also a cocktail and Awards Dinner on Saturday evening and all attendees are welcome!

Abstract submission is open to all medical students and residents who are current FMWC members (please join at fmwc.ca). Submissions will NOT be considered if the submitting author is not a member of the FMWC.
If your abstract is selected, you will be invited to display your poster at the conference on both meeting days. On the 2nd meeting day, Sunday, Sept. 24 during the morning break period, you will present your poster and answer questions. Please note that you will be responsible for your own meeting registration and travel costs.
We encourage poster topics related to this year’s conference theme as well as research related to:
• Physician leadership
• Gender-inclusive health care
• Physician health and wellness
• Women, peace, and security
• Women’s cardiovascular health
• Health equity
• Equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Women’s sexual and reproductive health
• Women’s health issues
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work at a national level and to network with specialists from across the country.
The Conference is attended by female physicians, allied health professionals, and medical learners in all fields of medicine.
The abstract limit is 250 words (not including title, headings, authors, and affiliations) and submissions should be formatted using the following headings:
