2019 MALL ALL-STAR MANAGER APPLICATION FORM

Mesa American Little League will field All-Star teams for postseason play for baseball and softball divisions with sufficient players and managers/coaches available to field a team. This includes baseball teams at the following age levels: 8-10, 9-11, 10-12, and 13-14. We will field two softball team at the 10-12 age level and 13-14 age level. The goal of the League All-Star Committee is to assemble competitive teams (managers/coaches/players) for district, state, regional, national and international tournaments.

These teams must also best represent excellent sportsmanship and team attitude for the Mesa American Little League community. All rostered managers and coaches who have managed or coached in the appropriate division for at least one-half of the regularly scheduled season games are eligible to serve as All-Star Team Manager.

Any Minor Manager or Coach may be a 8-10-year-old All-Star Team Manager.
Any Major/Minor Manager or Coach may be a 9-11-year-old All-Star Team Manager.
Any Major Manager or Coach may be an 10-12-year-old All-Star Team Manager.
Any Manager or Coach in the Junior may be an 13-14-year-old All-Star Team Manager.

Candidates for manager/coach will be evaluated by the following criteria in no specific order of importance:

Experience managing/coaching tournaments (e.g. All-Stars, MALL tournament, outside MALL)
Game/rule knowledge and ability to teach fundamentals •
Ability to positively motivate and bring out the best in every player •
Sportsmanship and conduct throughout the season on and off the field
Ability to represent Mesa American Little League in a positive way
Ability to assess the skill levels of players without bias towards own child or current team players and to assign players to the appropriate positions to field the most competitive team while balancing opportunities to participate by all players
Ability to communicate positively with players, parents, league and district officials.
Commitment to practice and game schedules throughout the district, state, regional, national and international levels.
