Categories

Prince Ibrihim Community Hero Award: This award honors an individual, who tirelessly leads community initiatives uplifting and empowering African American residents in Natchez Adams County. They exhibit exceptional leadership skills, organize events, and advocate for positive change within the community.

This Little Light of Mine- Youth Leadership and Volunteerism Award: Recognizing the remarkable dedication of young leaders, this award celebrates youth who have volunteered countless hours for various causes benefiting African American residents in Natchez Adams County. Whether through mentorship programs, food drives, or community clean-up efforts, their selfless contributions have significantly impacted others.

Leontyne Price Music Excellence Award: Acknowledging outstanding talent and contributions to the R&B music scene, this award is open to individuals, including youth, with roots in Natchez Adams County. They bring recognition to the local music industry through their artistry, performances, or behind-the-scenes work. (DJ, producers, etc)

Shining Star Award for Special Needs Advocacy: This award celebrates individuals, including youth, who advocate and support individuals with special needs within the African American community of Natchez Adams County. Through education, outreach, or direct assistance, they demonstrate unwavering dedication to ensuring inclusive and empowerment for all.

William Johnston Entrepreneurial Spirit Award: Recognizing exceptional entrepreneurial   this award honors individuals who have established successful businesses positively impacting the African American community in Natchez Adams County. Their innovation, resilience, and commitment to economic empowerment make them deserving candidates.

Mrs. Mc Grew Hot Tamales Culinary Award: Nominated for their mastery of  culinary arts celebrates individuals, including youth, whose skills in hospitality and restaurant development has  become a source of pride for the African American community in Natchez Adams County. Their dedication to preserving culinary heritage and delighting taste buds make them standout candidates.

John Banks and AW Dumas Medical Provider Excellence Award: Recognizing exceptional skill, compassion, and dedication among medical providers, from Natchez Adams County, this award highlights their commitment to providing medical care to the African American community. Their efforts contribute to improving healthcare outcomes and addressing disparities, making them invaluable assets to the community.

Joe Frazier Excellence in Education Award: This award recognizes significant contributions to education within the African American community of Natchez Adams County. Educators or administrators inspire generations of students through their passion, dedication, and innovative approaches to teaching and leadership.

Please provide the reasons for nominating an individual and their contributions. Nominees must be either current residents of Natchez Adams County or have grown up there. Additionally, they should identify as African American. You will also be responsible for providing a bio and picture for you nominee if selected .


Fashion Extravaganza

In keeping with Natchez's tradition of vibrant nightlife and fervent Sunday worship, we invite a representative from your church or your organization to participate in our Hat and Fashion Show. This event celebrates both style and community spirit, as participants showcase their finest hats while raising funds from the enthusiastic crowd.

If your church' or your organization 's candidate is chosen as the winner of the finest hat, your church or organization will receive 10% of the funds raised as a contribution. So, ladies and gentlemen , dust off your most elegant suits and hats, and join us for this special occasion!

This commemorative event honors the spirit of Juneteenth in our community and celebrates the unsung heroes among us. The top three candidates will be selected by the Juneteenth committee, and their nominations will be publicized in the local newspaper and on the City of Natchez website.

Additionally, this event serves as a fundraiser for the Joe Frazier Extended Education and Cultural Enrichment Center hosted by the Pretty Girls with Brains and Southwest Wellness Association of Mississippi. Whether or not your candidate is selected, we kindly ask for your support through donations to the center. In true community spirit, let us remember that charity starts at home, and together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community. Can we count on you
