CFAER Teens
CFAER Teens aims to uplift underrepresented, under-resourced teenagers in Northeast Los Angeles by offering reduced cost and free-of-charge, hybrid art workshops, mentorship with professional working artists, and opportunities to investigate prospective careers in the arts. By underrepresented, we mean people who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color; immigrants; economically disadvantaged; LGBTQIA+; and at-promise youth. The program’s objective is for students to walk away with the resources necessary to confidently and creatively pursue their goals, arts-related or otherwise.

Teen Advisory Board
At CFAER Teens, adolescent artists are encouraged to think critically and work collaboratively using a ‘For Teens By Teens’ model, marking a new initiative in sustained, student-led programming at Center for the Arts Eagle Rock.

The program will be spearheaded by a Teen Advisory Board, which NELA students from grades 10-12 will be eligible to apply for. Students on the Board will have the distinct opportunity to co-develop public programs, events and exhibitions for fellow teens in the community, working closely with CFAER’s staff and mentors.
