The way episodes are organized suits me well.

I would prefer an alternative structure: episodes sorted by topic with each episode covering all of the mechanisms, methods, and testing happening within that hypothesis. For example: one episode with everything within meuroinflammation, or protein misfolding, or mitochondrial dysfunction...in Alzheimer's disease
