Description of Event:  
Join our festival community as one of our esteemed and quality vendors.  You will experience our performance art culture while being recognized as a representative of our festival "family."  We are honored to include you as an integral part of our event.
Our all-ages festival hosts arts and crafts vendors,  food, beer & wine, cosplay costumes, Vikings, Renaissance fight demos, mermaids, children’s activities, demonstrations, workshops (non-fire), local bands, a drum circle, stilts walkers, acrobats, aerialists, fire dancers, pyrotechnics Redding's Premier Cirque Show!
The theme of our featured performance is “Outer Space.”  You are encouraged to wear a family-friendly costume that fits our “outer space” theme and to decorate your booth accordingly.

  • Volunteers will earn one (1) ticket for every one (1) hour volunteered.  If earning multiple tickets, you may save your tickets for entry at future events or share them with others.
  • Details of the volunteer position, duties, and your schedule will be sent with your approval letter.
  • Your approval and schedule will be sent in May.  If you need to cancel, please contact us via our social media or email us at: Flamingtoys@gmail.com
  • You are encouraged to wear a family-friendly costume that fits our "outer soace" or "cosplay" theme or a Redding Fire Festival shirt. This is not required.  Street clothes are totally fine.
  • *Please note:  Cancellations must be made prior to the event day.  If you miss your shift, you will no longer be eligible for volunteer placement at Redding Fire Festival and Hottel Productions events.
  • *NOT SHOWING for your shift is VERY stressful for the event and the other volunteers that have to cover your shift.  Please only sign up if you are available to complete your shift or contact us at least one week in advance of the festival.

Volunteer Positions
Set Up: Crew responsible for loading, unloading, placing and assembling festival set pieces, lighting, canopies, signs, caution tape, trash cans, and other large items.  
(Shifts on Friday from 9 am-8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am-2 pm)

Survey: (NO POSITIONS LEFT AVAILABLE) 
Greets the guests as thy enter. Asks each guest if they would be interested in participating in our demographic survey. Ask the guests for their city, state, zip code and if they paid with cash or card. Records answers on clipboard form or Google Drive questonnaire.
(Shifts between 2:30-8:30 pm on Saturday)

Greeter:  (NO POSITIONS LEFT AVAILABLE)
Greets the guests as they enter.  Ensures that all guests have their admission bracelet on.  Sends guests that do not have their admission bracelets to an admission booth.  Gives directions to the restrooms, merchandise booth, etc. 
Manages Chair Rental Distribution:  Ensures guest contributes to the donation jar. Hands rented chairs to the guest.  Informs the guest of the rental return area.  Collects returned chairs as needed.
(Shifts between 2-9 pm on Saturday)

Litter Removal:  Picks up trash inside the event grounds, including the restroom and immediately surrounding the event.  Promotes "Leave No Trace" to the other guests.
(Shifts between 5 pm-10 pm on Saturday, 10 am--6 pm on Sunday)

Secret Shopper:  (NO POSITIONS LEFT AVAILABLE)
This position is assigned a number of vendor booths to inspect and grade.  It is important that this role is not identified as a volunteer to ensure an accurate experience.
*Must have a cell phone with internet access to use the secret shopper app.
(Shifts between 3 pm-8 pm on Saturday)

Stage Guard:  Stands guard at the stage entrance to ensure only persons with the designated wristbands access the area.  Escorts all others out of the area.
(Shifts between 6-10 pm on Saturday)

Break Down:  Responsible for breaking down and loading all festival set pieces, lighting, canopies, signs, caution tape, and other large items.  General clean up.
(Shifts between 9 am-6 pm on Sunday)
