First Aid Collective Knoxville's "Sharing the Spare" Community Fresh Food Initiative
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the First Aid Collective Knoxville has been working to find new ways in which we can provide for, and meet our communities' needs. We do so without prejudice and with a shared desire to work with our neighbors to meet this, and all crises, directly and in solidarity. In the months that have followed, we have provided hundreds of supplies for families and individuals that include temporary shelters, food, diapers, masks, hand sanitizers, medicine, financial support, and much more.
As we continue to re-imagine, and build towards a better, more fair world, we are hoping to begin redistributing fresh food to folks, families, and local Knoxville communities that may have need. To get us started, we are making contact list of those that may be interested in the following:
- Sharing the excess produce from established local and home garden projects.
- Establishing and building localized collective garden projects aimed at growing food for our neighborhoods and communities.
- Developing the logistical capabilities for grassroots food redistribution in Knoxville.
- Graphic design, communication, and social media for our fresh food program.
If you are interested in any of the above, and want to participate or stay up to date with this project, please fill out the following questions.
In Solidarity,
FACK
