Chromebook User Agreement Policy.
TIFFIN CITY SCHOOLS CHROMEBOOK USER AGREEMENT FORM. Please read this agreement and answer the questions below.

Tiffin City Schools understands that your child is entering into a unique school year and we are focused on providing all students in grades K through 12, technology support regardless of your child’s educational learning environment. During the 2020-2021 school year, Tiffin City Schools will be assigning your child a chromebook, to use both in school and at home. These devices will be utilized for grades K through 12. "These are assigned to be used only by the student and no one else in the home."

A, Please keep in mind that the mobile device your child will be using is still the property of Tiffin City Schools.  Although the TCS Board has waived device fees, the expectation of the district is that this device will be returned in the same condition as it was received.  Parents will be held financially responsible for any and all damages accrued on this device.

B, All students in grades K through 12 will be given a chromebook and power adapter.
The student and or parent will be responsible for charging the chromebook the day before the day of school. The building staff, teachers, or the school district is not responsible to charge the students devices nor are they responsible for supplying a replacement when the student forgets to bring it to school. There will be a limited amount of area for charging in all buildings for the students to charge their Chromebooks.

C, The chrome books are provided to conduct research, communicate with others, produce projects, and to use it as a teaching/learning tool in the classroom.  Access to the school's network, e-mail and internet services will be granted to all who agree to act in a considerate and responsible manner. Access is a privilege, not a right.  The technology department may review files and communications to maintain system integrity and ensure that users are using the system responsibly. At any given time, you may need to return the device for updates and or repairs at the request of the technology coordinator.  All communications and information via this network should be assumed to be the property of the District.  In addition, users should understand that e-mails are not considered private. Users shall report any security problem or misuse of the network to a teacher, principal, or immediate supervisor. The following is not permitted:

•Intentionally damaging computers, peripherals, or networks.
•Using another person's password or giving your password or any other personal information, to someone else.
•Sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures or any other activities prohibited by law.
•Using obscene language, harassing, insulting, or attacking others.
•Violating copyright laws
•Intentionally wasting network resources.
•Employing the network for commercial purposes.

D, While using this device, Tiffin City Schools takes pride in providing internet security regardless of your student’s location. Whether, the Chromebooks are to be in a school building, at home, in a library, coffee shop, etc. we will still provide the same filtering systems as expected under the federal guidelines of Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA). Access to the district’s information systems is a privilege, not a right. All resources, user accounts, and information are the property of the school district. Users have no privacy expectation in their use of the system. The school district reserves the right to monitor, track, log, and access systems used to monitor and allocate space. Tiffin City School District reserves the right to restrict or deny access to view, remote to assistance and repair, prevent unauthorized, inappropriate, or illegal activity, or to refer to legal authorities if such violations deem necessary.  

E, Upon the last day of school, all Chromebooks must be returned according to the Technology Coordinators' decision and with the date and time of to your child’s current school building. Refusing to do so will lead to the financial responsibilities of the parents.
