Returning to School after an Absence.
Please read this carefully and fill out this 'Return to school' form prior to sending your child to school.

I must remind you to follow all the protocols which were in place when your child will return to school again.

It is very important that we try to keep COVID-19 out of Killoughteen NS. We advise all parents to watch for any signs, symptoms or changes in your children which may suggest illness/COVID-19 infection. If you are in any doubt that symptoms are present, your children should not attend school. A precautionary approach should be taken. Children should not attend school until they have sought appropriate medical advice and testing if appropriate. They should not attend school if they have been told they are close contacts of a person with COVID-19.

All parents will be asked by the school to continue completing the declaration form on Aladdin after any absence. This link needs to be completed today only. Every other absence can be recorded via Aladdin.

When collecting or dropping off your child(ren), we advise all parents that there should be no congregation outside the school. If you need to speak with a member of staff was ask that this be requested through the school office.  Staff will revert back to you via telephone or online.

We remind you also that pupils should not to return or attend school if they have travelled outside of Ireland;
In such instances you are advised to consult and follow latest Government advice in relation to foreign travel.
We request that all staff and pupils to cooperate with any public health officials and the school for contact tracing purposes and follow any public health advice in the event of a case or outbreak in the school.

In the even that there is a confirmed case of COVID 19 in our school in the future we remind you of the following procedures that are in place in our school;
The School will contact the pupil’s parents/guardians and arrange for them to collect their child.
 Under no circumstances can a pupil use public or school transport to travel home if they are a suspected case of COVID-19.
The pupil concerned will be advised to avoid touching other people, surfaces and objects.
They will be advised to cover their mouth and nose with disposable tissue(s) when they cough or sneeze, and to put the tissue in the bin.
Parents are advised to ring their GP for advice and follow his/her direction. Parents are advised NOT to go to see their GP.
Pupils will be given a face mask and will be advised to continue wearing the face mask until they reach home

Hopefully, this is the last lockdown position that all of us will have to speak of moving into the future.  It has been a trying time for our families and pupils.

We look forward to welcoming all of our pupils back in the not-too-distant future. We look forward to welcoming our Rainbow Class pupils tomorrow, Monday 22nd of February.
