KIDS Lottery
Dear Parents:

May Elementary School is pleased to announce a preschool opportunity for four year old children within our community; the year immediately preceding kindergarten.  This unique experience will provide age appropriate preschool instruction for the children, while being included in a learning environment with preschool students with disabilities.  Please be aware, this is not a traditional preschool program. This opportunity will enable your child to receive valuable preschool instruction, as well as provide the students with disabilities, age appropriate role models.

We are looking for children who have age appropriate language and behavior. All applicants are expected to do the following independently.

1. Take on and off their own jacket (including zippers and reversing sleeves if they are inside the jacket)
2. Open their entire lunch (including opening straw and punching through the container as needed)
3. Take care of all toileting needs.
4. Play well with others.
5. Speak loudly and clearly and sing along with the class.

The children must be four years old,  potty trained, and must have demonstrated that they are able to be away from home for an entire day.  Parents will be required to transport to and from school and ensure that consistent attendance occurs with the exception of illness.

The program will be offered Monday- Friday from 9:00am-3:21pm.  One teacher will be instructing the students and will be assisted by two instructional assistants.  Enrollment is limited in an effort to maintain an appropriate class size.  If your child is selected, registration is required and updated immunization records must be provided.  If you are interested in your child participating in this learning experience, please complete this form by May 20th.  The drawing of names will be conducted and you will be notified if your child is selected by the end of June.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to notify you if your child is not selected.

Thank you in advance for your interest.  Please feel free to contact the office at 702-799-4690 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Bridget Leatherman
