**Updates to 2021 Election Procedures**
The NZGDA Board is proposing constitutional updates at the AGM in November 2021. These changes include updates to the procedure for electing the NZGDA Board.
The Board has proposed two changes to election procedure, which we would like to implement as a part of this election cycle:
1. Update Officer Roles to include Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer
2. The Membership will elect the 9 Board Members, and then the Board Members will assign the Officer Roles amongst themselves (instead of being directly elected by the membership).
The Board would like to use this election to practice these changes to election procedure, however in the unlikely event that the constitution is not approved by the membership at the AGM in November, it is possible that we will need to hold a separate election for the roles of Chairperson and Secretary. We do not expect this to be the case, however we wish for you to be aware of this possibility.
