Affordable Housing & Architectural Style Survey

The purpose of this survey is twofold, and we’d love your opinion and expertise on either or both topics included here. Please feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you’d like — we appreciate your time and thoughts!

LGA Studios has started an online house plan company — Rocky Mountain Plan Company — with the intention of providing great design at an accessible cost and with a quicker turnaround than our fully custom services at LGA Studios.

We’re looking for market input as we curate our house plan library, and we’d love to get your opinion on affordable housing as well as on the styles and features that matter most to you and your clients for floor plans in larger square footages. We're sorting through 40+ years of projects and we’re trying to pin down the styles and features the market demands. Our plans can be offered at economical rates for your buyers and subdivisions.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS SURVEY:

1. AFFORDABLE HOUSING

  • The first questions in this survey focus on the topic of affordable housing what are some barriers to solving this problem, where are some areas we can work together and get creative, and what styles and features are market must-haves?

2. ARCHITECTURAL STYLES AND TRENDS

  • In the second section, we’d love your opinion about homes in larger square footages that are more typical of the homes you build and sell. We’ve selected a few trends that we feel could be good fits for our plans as we update their exterior elevations, and we’ve also listed a few more timeless architectural styles. There is also a segment about floor plan preferences at the end of the survey.

We can't thank you enough for your time and your thoughts. We're truly grateful for your expertise!

Section 1: Affordable Housing

For the purpose of the next questions, let's say we’re talking about a home under 1000 heated square feet.

What type of home(s) would you consider most economical to build at under 1000 square feet?

At under 1000 square feet, space is at a premium. What features, in your opinion, should be prioritized to make the home feel livable and also special?
Any other floor plan features, suggestions, or ideas you'd like to add?

What style(s) do you feel would fit the local market for affordable homes?

What challenges and barriers do you see that make affordable housing difficult to develop and build in our local area?

Do you have any ideas or solutions that can make new construction more affordable?

Would you like to further discuss possibilities of how to bring affordable housing solutions to our region? We’d love to start a dialogue on this topic.
