Founded in 1929, Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, Inc. is an African American, nonprofit social service agency providing programming in Early Childhood Education, Youth Enrichment, Basic Needs, Seniors, Historical Archives and multi-service Hub Center administration, open to all people. With a primary focus on the Summit University neighborhood and the Twin Cities Metro area it serves as the administrative body of the Martin Luther King Center, which houses its partners offering specialized services and programs, including Project Cheer, Prepare & Prosper, the Saint Paul Branch of the NAACP, the African American Leadership Council, the Community Ambassadors and the nationally recognized Penumbra Theatre Company.
