The Nationally Recognized and Award-Winning Performing Arts program at St. Joseph Regional HS will present A Chorus Line as their Spring Musical on May 8-12, 2024. Arguably one of the iconic musicals of all time, here are just some of the accolades A Chorus Line has won:
Winner! The 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama
Winner! Nine 1976 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Book, Score, Choreography and Director
Winner! Four 1976 Drama Desk Awards, including Best Music
Winner! Three 1976 Obie Awards
Winner! 1976 Theatre World Special Award
Winner! 1984 Special Gold Tony Award in honor of becoming Broadway's longest-running musical
Nominee: Two 2007 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival
The story is based on the real life accounts of Broadway dancers as they reflect on their journey from childhood to the Great White Way and how the trials of the audition process has shaped them. Honing in on how all of us deal with the biggest competition in our lives, the one against ourselves.
Auditions are Monday March 25:
There are two time slots for the Vocal Auditions (4-5:30 & 5:30-7), please indicate below the time slot you wish to attend. Time slots are first come first serve. We cannot accommodate specific requests. Please choose accordingly. Following the vocal auditions, there will be a dance audition will start at 7:30 and we are hoping to end by 9pm.
**AT THIS TIME THERE ARE ONLY TIME SLOTS AVAILABLE 4pm-5:30pm**
Callbacks are Tuesday March 26 4:30-8:30 (Could Possibly Run Later)
IMPORTANT AUDITION INFORMATION!!!
- You must have PRINTED sheet music for your song for the pianist.
- You should prepare 32 - 48 bars of a contemporary musical theater song or a song from the show...(think Drowsy Chaperone, Adams Family, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels)
- You will pick one of the three options of monologues to audition during your vocal audition. You are able to use a printed copy to deliver your monologue.
- Bring a change of clothes/ shoes you can dance/move comfortably and confidently in!
- Bring water and a healthy snack to keep you energized!
