Community Healing Picnic
Event Timing: Saturday August 14, 2021 1:00PM-8:00PM
Event Address: Kelso Conservation Area (5234 Kelso Road, Milton, ON L9E 0C6)

We have a limit of 50 Black, racialized, and anti-racist attendees who can join us. Registration for everyone is required due to COVID-19 guidelines. Please be accurate with the number of people you will be in attendance with. Screening will need to be completed for each guest prior to the event.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN REUSABLE CONTAINER AND CUTLERY TO BE USED WHEN EATING TO REDUCE WASTE. You are also encouraged to bring your own water, sunscreen, bug spray, chairs, masks/ sanitizer, blankets, towels, umbrellas, and tents to create a comfortable experience and protect your family from the elements. Please also bring your own food and snacks to enjoy throughout the day. There is a concession stand open at the beach that provides food, snacks and refreshments.

If attending the 1:00-3:30PM timeslot, each attendee will receive ONE meal ticket at the gate. If attending the 6:00-8:00PM timeslot, some food will be provided (burgers, hot dogs) but we encourage those staying at this time to bring their own sides or main dish if you have dietary restrictions.

All are welcome but registration will be prioritized for Black and racialized families. Please note that the healing circle will be an affinity space for Black and Indigenous people.

Activities include:
Yoga, Meditation, Swimming, Walking, Healing circle, Picnic, Storytelling, Collective healing
